Associate Position Description

The Associate will be a member of the BCRE Finance team and will be responsible for aiding the Senior Finance Associates and other Finance team members with accounting and reporting oversight for a collection of direct real estate investments, as well as providing support for fund level accounting and reporting functions. Direct real estate investments include a wide range of asset sectors including life sciences / lab space, senior housing, self-storage, industrial - infill, medical office, multi-family, media / content space, etc.

The responsibilities of the Associate will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tracking, analyzing, and coordinating weekly cash activity, such as processing capital calls and distributions
• Performing weekly cash availability analysis across multiple Funds, including evaluating loan drawdowns and repayments
• Coordinating with multiple Finance team members and other Bain departments to ensure all wires move timely and that cash reconciles weekly
• Preparing supporting workpapers for monthly interest expense/bank fees and quarterly fund financial statements
• Reviewing monthly property financial reporting for various asset sectors
• Providing assistance with the quarterly valuation process for all real estate property investments
• Supporting team members with annual property operating budget process
• Coordinating interim & year-end audit/tax deliverables
• Collaborating with Finance team members on ad hoc projects to enhance the products of the department and firm
  
  

General Qualifications

We are actively seeking candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

• Preferably 1-2 years accounting experience industry (preferably Big 4 public accounting experience and/or experience working at a real estate investment manager)
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills (email and verbal) plus demonstrated confidence and ability to communicate with all levels of management
• Must have supreme organizational skills and be extremely detail oriented and self-motivated
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
