Opening soon, Bake Market in Rocky Hill is seeking a passionate EARLY morning Pastry Assitant to join our team. For this position we strive to embrace the ideas and techniques of classic European bread and pastry while personalizing them to create something new. We’re not here to reinvent the wheel, but we do want to add a few spokes of our own.
The Pastry assistant will be responsible for bread and pastry production for multiple locations. This position will report to the Executive Chef & Pastry Chef and will need to understand the goals of the company, trends in the market and how we plan to adapt as business proceeds. We are looking for someone to come on board with what we currently have planned while bringing their own aspects of baking/pastry to the table as well. We are a very team-oriented group that focuses on quality and proper execution.
This role will require organizational and time management skills as well as creativity and the ability to multitask. Extensive experience in bakeries and the food industry is required for this position. This individual will have good communication skills, both verbal and written. This can also be a physically demanding job; this person will be able to keep a steady pace through their shift. Finally, but very importantly, love, interest, knowledge, and curiosity about food are a must. As a team-based group we are seeking only those candidates with high character, punctuality, and premier work ethic that want to be part of something great!
-Shifts may start as early as 4 am-12pm
-At least 5 years of bread and pastry production experience preferred
