What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Manager $63-80k position at Balance Staffing?
The Logistics Manager will oversee the daily management of
import, export, and domestic moves.
The ideal candidate will also have previous logistics experience, specifically
in both domestic and international shipping, and will be ready to approach
this role with process improvement and ideas for enhancement and
efficiencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaise and negotiate with carriers and forwarders. This includes
small packages, ocean, air and truck. For import, export and
domestic shipments.
- Researches and sources best carriers for service and rates.
- Ensures best carrier rates without compromising service.
- Follow up to ensure timely pick-up and delivery and avoid any
detention charges.
- Classify duty and HTS on new or updated products.
- Prepare or acquire customs documents to insure problem free
clearance.
- Proficient with TMSlh to request pickups, create documents, and
track shipments.
- Ensure compliance with DOT.
- Reviews all shipping labels and packaging to ensure that they meet
federal regulations.
- Addresses and promptly resolves any issues with delayed
shipments
- Maintain duty drawback database.
- Maintain daily traffic report to keep all interested parties updated on
ETA and shipment status.
- Track inbound containers and report any delays.
- Serves as point of contact for all carriers.
- Reports any problems, issues, and losses to director immediately.
- Manage customer routing guides.
- All other duties as assigned or necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63.00 - $80.00 per year
