Bancroft is currently seeking an Director of Business Intelligence and Development to join our Business Transformation Systems Department.
Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and executing the company's BI strategy, overseeing the design and implementation of BI and integrated business solutions, and leading a team of analytics and development professionals. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of BI and Development technologies and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights for the organization. Will also coordinate with decision-makers in the company to ensure that data gathering and analysis support the overall development and execution of enterprise business strategy. The director will act both in a leadership capacity and as a working team member for the department.
Leadership:
- Develop and execute the overall BI and Development Strategy aligned with business objectives. Provide leadership and direction to the BI and Development team, developing a culture of innovation, process orientation, and excellence.
- Recruit, train, and mentor BI and Development professionals to ensure a high-performance team. Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide feedback for team development.
- Collaborate with executives, department heads, and other stakeholders to understand business goals and information needs. Translate business requirements into BI and Development solutions that drive informed decision-making.
- Develop and help enforce data governance policies and procedures. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and evolve current BI and Development infrastructure, tools, and technologies. Stay current with industry trends and recommend updates to the BI and Development architecture as needed.
- Lead the design and development of dashboards, reports, data visualizations, integration, and automation.
- Drive the adoption of self-service analytics tools for end-users and advance organizational use of automation.
- Plan, direct, coordinate, monitor, and review the work of others during all phases of the project team's work within the Agile Framework. Coordinate the planning, development, and presentation of training for business system users.
- Resolve all outstanding BI and Development issues and projects by reporting on status daily, weekly, and monthly and working with the Information team on expected SLA.
Working Team Member:
- Create innovative dashboards, reports, metrics, and logical drill-down structures that are well visualized and easily consumed by the customer, management, and operational personnel to assist in demonstrating and improving the value of our services. The approach to the development of which will require great attention to detail in the understanding of our systems, operational processes, and the data created by those processes.
- Ongoing data mining and analysis of existing BI artifacts to ensure the proper value is derived by our customers and the organization. This includes root cause variance analysis and continuing metamorphosis of the BI artifacts and the related drill-down capabilities to support accurate and quick decision-making.
- Analyze existing system processes through the interpretation of stored procedures, OLAP, and OLTP data to ensure quality and detect opportunities for improvement.
- Assist the Data Warehouse initiative with enhancement requirements and new dimensional and fact table requests to support the BI process.
- Provide support to end users with the use of the BI tools, including, but not limited to, ad-hoc development of requested BI artifacts and code review of user-created artifacts to ensure accuracy and appropriateness to purpose.
- Perform self-review of work produced and quality assurance on the work of other BTS team members to ensure high standards are maintained across the department for accuracy and consistency of presentation.
- Continuously grow knowledge of the toolsets used to deliver BI artifacts to ensure the best solutions are delivered.
- Tune BI reports to ensure the performance of artifacts delivered is maximized.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, finance, or economics or equivalent education and experience is required. Advanced technical credentials preferred—seven or more years of progressive IT experience within a supervisory role.
- Must have advanced knowledge of MS BI stack, including work with SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS or equivalent tools.
- Must have hands-on experience designing and developing SQL relational Tables, OLAP cubes, and Datamarts.
- Must have practical experience with Data Visualization tools; MS Power BI preferred
- Must have worked with data ingestion from disparate sources (API - SOAP, OAuth, JSON), MSSQL, CSV/TXT, Sheets, Excel) .
- Must have proactively managed database and warehouse maintenance and optimization.
- Must have the ability to conceptualize and design new reports.
- Must have a proven track record for executing complex data extraction and analytical projects
- Must demonstrate a superior ability to recognize and define problems, understand business and system processes, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must have the ability to communicate ideas and analysis results effectively with business and technical staff, including the ability to document and convey complex ideas both verbally and in written form.
- Must be able to formulate and communicate questions to gather the necessary missing information to resolve a problem.
- Must have the ability to conceptualize business problems and solve them through data analysis.
- Must have experience working with data warehouse systems.
- Must have exceptional critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience working with UKG Pro / WorkForce Management, Workday, Salesforce, and Electronic Medical Records (Clinical Systems) preferred.
