Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to join our team and establish the Business Development function at ITpipes. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and build ITpipe’s outbound sales strategy for the top-of-the-funnel. We are looking for a player-coach who can execute a high volume of reach-outs while also hiring and managing a team of BDRs, with a goal of exceeding sales meeting bookings targets. This person will work closely with the CEO to influence our vision for continued growth.
You will be responsible for developing processes, procedures, and metrics that define individual success on the team. The Business Development Lead is a highly visible role that involves close collaboration with customers, internal teams, and leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to leads and execute a high volume of calls and emails per day to target accounts
- Work to develop target lists, call strategies, messaging and new ways to increase awareness of ITpipes
- Research prospects to build effective outreach. Understand the needs of our target prospects and articulate the value that ITpipes provides
- Uses a combination of phone, email, and social touches, in order to schedule qualified meetings with prospects.
- Testing and refining our inbound and outbound outreach strategy
- Training team to book qualification and discovery meetings
- Attend trade shows and conferences to generate leads
- Messaging, talking points and call script development

Requirements:
- 3 years in Public Sector Sales or Business Development Roles with a track record of success
- 1-2 years of people management experience in a Sales or Business Development Function
- Strong communicator with a passion for coaching and mentorship
- Outside-the-box thinker, willing to test and experiment to improve team performance
- Good understanding of B2B solution selling with a long sales cycle
- Fast learner
- Experience working with larger, more complex accounts
- Career motivated, looking for an opportunity to make a mark and move quickly through a fast-growing organization
- Experience working in Salesforce, Salesloft, Linkedin Lead Navigator, Vidyard or equivalent tools
- Willing to travel 10% of the time (trade shows, conferences, etc)
- Being familiar with water municipalities or public utility companies is a plus
