Summary:
The Coordinator recruits, hires, trains, disciplines and supervises staff including completion of performance evaluations and competency assessments for the direct reports. This full-time position has primary responsibility and accountability for planning and supervising the daily operation in the department to ensure that service expectations and quality requirements are met. The Coordinator assumes responsibility
for the pre-analytical section of the laboratory including monitoring hemolysis, clotting, QNS, mislabel, unlabeled, and blood culture contamination. The Coordinator will work with nursing education on collection issues, monitoring and trending in order to improve collection processes. The Coordinator may be required to perform technical tasks as needed. This is a fast-paced position requiring exceptional organizational and communication skills and the ability to multitask.
Other information:
Management experience is highly preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience as Phlebotomist or Lab Assistant required. Highly personable, organized, and a great motivator for the Lab Assistant group. Ability to lead, coach, and manage this group in addition to ongoing identification of performance, progression, and need for intervention. Must possess language, math, and reasoning skills which allow for the analysis, interpretation, and valid conclusion to be made during data collection and during mechanical or scientific procedures. Must be able to effectively present gathered data orally or in writing to management or regulatory agencies.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
Salary : $62,600 - $79,300
