- SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)Functions within the framework of the mission, vision, values, and standards of the Health System. Assists in strategically managing and directing unit clinically within the Medical Center. Devises quality improvement programs and systemic processes of monitoring standards of care, and incorporates evidence-based practice. To promote and develop innovative practices with the multidisciplinary team through project work. To function as a role model to ensure high standards of care. Supervise/ advise/ coach all staff in the development of evidenced based and clinically effective nursing practice. Is accountable for the management of care and the care environment. Develops an overall view of patients, families, caregivers and establishes strong partnership with them to deliver optimal care. The Clinical Manager functions under the same requirements as a staff nurse for unit coverage.
- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experienceEDUCATION: Education requisite to obtain required license/certification for the position.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE: Must have three to five years of current clinical nursing with preceptor experience. Requires knowledge of federal and regulating agency standard related to health care organization. Must have cognitive and technical knowledge and the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken and written word. A flexible work schedule is required. Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities. Possesses the knowledge and skill regarding the developmental needs of the patient population served as well as the skill required to perform processes involved in the delivery of patient care services to the population. This includes adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, BONDING: Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Arkansas. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is recommended. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Clinical specialty certification recommended. Membership in professional organization is highly encouraged.PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May be exposed to infectious diseases with protective measures and follow up treatment provided.
