JOB SUMMARY :
Performs invasive phlebotomy procedures on Neonates / infants-birth to 1 year, Pediatrics- age 1 to 12 years, Adolescents- age 12 to 18 years, Adults- age 18 to 65 years, and Geriatrics- age 65 and older while adhering to strict infection control and safety policies as well as all HIPAA Privacy Regulations.
Collect blood specimens from other healthcare facilities, stocks and maintain supplies as received.
Keeps work area clean and organized, stocks and maintains phlebotomy collection trays.
Transpose and order outpatient testing via computer system.
Assist with answering telephone and directing in-coming calls.
Assist with collections of legal drug screens and other collections procedures as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS :
High school diploma or equivalent required, or higher. One or more years of experience in the phlebotomy field is preferred (on-the-job training will be considered).
Must demonstrate outstanding communication skills with patients and other health care personnel, professionalism, and acceptance of responsibility to quality specimen collection that plays a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, and management of diseases.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills required, as are self-motivation and self-direction in the workplace.
