This position provides domestic operational support for technical infrastructure of Burlington Medical, including analysis and design of infrastructure, operational setups of the infrastructure, training of users, troubleshooting of issues and documentation of tools, issues, and processes. The technical infrastructure consists of hardware such as networks, servers, telecommunication, PCs, laptops, switches, and routers. Software infrastructure consists of operating systems, installed third party applications including MS Office, Exchange, SQL, security, virus scanning and other applications that meet business requirement needs.
This position is responsible for creating IT policy and strategy, implementing, and leveraging technology to help the organization achieve its goals.
Duties:
Configure and setup existing systems for requestors. Cross train staff as required to ensure adequate setup coverage. Setup includes mail accounts, Active Directory, user’s permissions, reset passwords, etc. Cleanup operational setups that are no longer used in production. Follow procedures to document and provide an audit trail for these setups.
Provide technical support and consulting services to internal business customers, IS development, external sales force, and external customers. Create documentation to allow staff to use infrastructure effectively. Train staff as appropriate to help them use infrastructure.
Maintenance of front office and back-office systems including patch management and execution of required upgrades.
Respond to Help Desk requests to repair production errors. Troubleshoot those products you are responsible for and escalate issues as needed. Take part in on call rotations. Generate and maintain documentation to support system troubleshooting. Cross train staff as required to ensure adequate help desk coverage. Ensure appropriate monitoring is in place to notify staff of system errors before business users are aware of issues.
Cleanup operational infrastructure that is no longer used in production.
Generate performance metrics for production infrastructure. This reporting will need to be generated as desired for management reporting and capacity planning.
Take part in Disaster Recovery Planning to ensure availability of infrastructure.
Take part in Capacity Planning to plan for managing infrastructure to meet increased/decreased volume.
Document all products and processes that are within your area of responsibility. Prepare and/or update documentation associated with job responsibilities.
Scoping, estimating, and managing IT CAPEX and OPEX budgets for technical infrastructure
Sets and maintains policies and procedures for various functions within the IT organization for the benefits of our entire domestic IT operations
Make recommendations to improve efficiencies through development and adoption of best practices and standardized procedures.
Qualifications/Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or another related field
Possess solid understanding of IT
Management experience of IT vendors, third-party system integrators, and application support providers
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills
Possess excellent interpersonal skills
Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
Highly self-motivated and directed
Excellent reporting capability to enable effective executive communication and decision making
Be able to work under pressure
Preferred Technical Knowledge
Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems
Experience with Azure, Salesforce Platform, Windows Server 2008-2019
Knowledge of Lenovo based systems
Working knowledge of Citrix and Freshdesk
Direct experience with Windows 7,8,10
Project life cycle ownership, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, documentation, deployment, and support.
Keep abreast of technical trends and best practices. Where applicable, incorporate these practices and technologies within our corporate framework.
Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required.
Ability to perform on-call support.
