What Will You Be Doing
Be responsible for implementing and maintaining a strong control Capital (RWA) framework within USCB with effective quality assurance to ensure robust governance of decisions and full compliance of Risk activities to regulatory and Internal guidelines. Maintain effective relationships with the Group Risk teams and auditors. Provide oversight of USCB 1LOD teams.
Manage a direct team of 4 FTE and leverage indirect risk team of around 20-30 FTE in shared services. Lead the team in an inspiring and effective way and ensure they fully embrace Barclays values and are supporting the business in meeting its strategic ambitions in the right way.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with QA, IVU, RFT, MSO, GCR, RIS, Treasury, and 1LOD team in order to interpret regulatory expectations are met, while delivering accurate outcomes reflective of business performance and growth.
Act as industry expert/subject matter expert with respect to Capital risk management, AIRB models specifically and be held responsible for building most effective relationships with internal and external boards and regulators. Active member of USCB Sales and Business Development efforts within USCB on Capital (Credit RWA) providing expert advice and guidance on prospective risks, mitigation options and assets valuation.

What Will You Be Doing
- Own AIRB rating system for USCB from a strategic design, development and execution.
- Ensure regulatory expectations are met with Satisfactory rating.
- Understanding of Group Risk and business goals to deliver model outcomes with precision.
- Coordinate model design requirements, build and testing with QA, MSO and other team in Bank.
- Fulfill responsibilities of Model Owner for AIRB models. Ensure Model Risk management standards are understood, and delivered timely – Model monitoring, remediation plan, and supporting analysis.
- Lead Implementation efforts of AIRB framework in USCB. Coordinate with Program office, RFT, GCR, RIS teams in Bank to ensure delivery with Controls.
- Work with Capital disclosure team to ensure USCB materials are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and communicate to CRO on a monthly basis RWA movements, partner level, and the driver level explains when compared to actuals and forecast.
- Engage benchmark activities in Bank related to Basel 3.0 and Basel 3.1 Capital frameworks from UK and US regulatory perspective.
- Oversee RWA outlook (short term and long term) generated by business, and New deals/ renewal assumptions.
- Partner with 2LOD credit strategy team to ensure Capital and Impairment is optimized in Credit lifecycle management.
- Manage Risk delivery and communication of all Internal Capital assessments with Group Treasury.
- Act as lead for all Audit activities (Internal and regulatory exams), and conformance related to Capital (RWA).
- Act as Owner or delegate in existing governance forums and Working group, for example Portfolio Management, IRB, Basel 3.1, Barclays International Initiatives.

- Strong knowledge and experience Risk model development and usage, preferably with previous experience in Decision Science or Modelling
- Proven expertise in management of high impact processes with Internal and external stakeholders
- Deep knowledge of regulatory Capital framework - US and UK
- Strong knowledge and experience in multiple areas of the credit cycle relative to the function of Risk Management (including analytical, statistical and technological tools)
