What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Intern position at Barnes Group?
Core Responsibilities:
- Work with the Aerospace HR team to contribute to various Human Resources related projects and processes in support of Talent Management System (TMS) and HR goals and objectives.
- Assist in Talent Acquisition end to end recruiting cycle (sourcing, interviewing, onboarding) activities and use standard work in all processes.
- Conduct regular new hire check-ins to ensure seamless integration into the organization.
- Assist with developing presentations as necessary in support of numerous initiatives.
- Lead the division’s events committee and engagement survey focus group to drive an employee first culture.
- Assist with HR standardization initiatives across Barnes Aerospace including the creation of standard work and process flow documents.
- Lead various HR initiatives and supply metrics, recommendations, and implement strategies to improve processes.
- Assist in the administration and support of HR Programs and policies.
- Create training program materials and lead training sessions for employees to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
- Develop and implement retention and engagement strategies alongside the division’s leadership team.
- Support other ad hoc projects within the department.
Qualifications:
- Strong project management and attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to multi-task on a wide variety of human resources assignments/projects.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Self-starter, able to deal with ambiguity and demonstrate results.
- Excellent time management, planning and communication (written and verbal) skills required.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to exercise initiative and work independently.
- Ability to work well with others and complete assignments on time.
- Must possess high ethical standards and able to maintain confidentiality of all data and files.
- Strong Computer skills in MS Office such as Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint and other web applications; Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Programs a plus.
- Ability to work a minimum of 25 hours per week (up to 40 hours) Mon-Fri. Flexible schedule available. Internship will be for a 6-month period.
Education Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising junior or senior, pursuing a Bachelor's degree, or in a Master’s Degree program studying Human Resources, or other closely related field of study.
