The successful candidate will ensure these proposals align with the objectives of prospective college and university partners, directly supporting the company's goals for revenue growth and client retention.
- Lead the proposals and presentations team in the production of impactful proposals and presentations, emphasizing team performance, skill development, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Partner with the Sales and Field teams to ensure proposal strategies and content fully align with organizational objectives and customer needs.
- Oversee the compilation and submission of all required RFP forms, exhibits, and documents, ensuring full compliance with each RFP's specifications and deadlines. Utilize CRM and project management tools to monitor and manage proposal processes from receipt through delivery, including tracking outcomes, opportunities, and feedback.
- Maintain and continually update the proposal and presentation content library, ensuring materials are current, accurate, and organized.
- Lead the coordination with subject matter experts across product, service, IT, and Legal teams to ensure proposal and presentation content is not only accurate but also incorporates the latest offerings, technology, and compliance standards.
- Actively monitor competitor proposals and presentations to ensure Barnes & Noble College's offerings are distinctively positioned, leveraging insights to continuously refine and innovate our proposal strategies.
- Maintain open and regular communication with leadership regarding proposal production schedules, progress updates, and outcomes.
- Utilize reporting mechanisms to provide insights into proposal effectiveness, team performance, and market trends.
- Constantly evaluate and enhance proposal development and submission processes to boost team efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and improve the overall quality of proposals and presentations.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
- 5 years experience in commercial proposal management, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
- Experience in developing winning proposals and presentations, preferably within higher education or retail sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in team leadership and project management, excelling in a fast-paced environment with a focus on meeting strict deadlines and maintaining composure under pressure.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring keen attention to detail and adherence to company policies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Programs, with a strong emphasis on PowerPoint
- Exceptional writing, verbal communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across the organization, including senior executives, sales, field teams, and internal/external partners.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with InDesign required
- Salesforce or other CRM experience a plus
