Position Description
Job Title: Expo
Reports to: Restaurant Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
Coordinates, assembles, and delivers all food items from the kitchen with proper plate presentation and correct garnishes and sauces, assuring Barrio Tacos high standards of food quality and presentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifies all menu items for proper portion sizes, quality standards, and plate presentation.
Uses a sense of urgency when coordinating food items to ensure ticket time standards.
Ensures accurate plating of all food items by maintaining proper portions according to spec.
Acts as final quality control between kitchen and guests by making sure all items meet Barrio Tacos standards.
Follows Barrio Tacos take out procedures and ensures all take out orders are accurate.
Sets up station according to station diagram or schematic.
Practices and maintains sanitary and safe food handling procedures at all times.
In addition to frequent hand washing, wears clean disposable gloves on both hands at all times when handling food.
Removes gloves before delivering food to guests.
Maintains a clean, sanitized, and organized expo window and surrounding area, sweeping floors throughout the shift and stocking all necessary supplies.
Completes opening and closing checklists for every shift.
Completes daily side work and cleaning projects.
Makes certain all food items for guests and employees are rung in prior to items leaving the expo area.
Responsible for completing cold line check and temperature log sheet for soups and chili every two hours.
Maintains POS equipment by using the pads of fingers to ring in food items. Does not use pens, credit cards, and other miscellaneous items to ring in orders.
Smiles and displays a positive attitude and is attentive to guests’ needs when delivering food.
Maintains an excellent personal appearance by following the Vibe Guide and personal hygiene standards by being in a clean uniform prior to the start of each shift.
Appropriate hair restraint worn at all times.

Acts as the liaison between the front of house and the back of house when communicating problems or issues.
Alerts appropriate server or manager when a customer has not been attended to.
Presents all food items by name when delivering food to guests.
Answers phone calls within two rings and follows proper Barrio Tacos phone procedures.
Maintains the Company expectations of performance and behavior in the restaurant as established in the Employee Handbook and training manual
Maintains kitchen operations through zoning of product, controlling of waste, and restaurant security policies.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Read, write and comprehend the English language
Work with cold and extremely hot food products, utensils, dinner plates and glassware
Work in a fast-paced environment consistent with changing business volume and demands
Ability to learn quickly
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
Ability to work as part of a team at all times
Ability to build relationships
