- When you join Design Group as an Sr. Designer, Electrical you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our A&E Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.
- You'll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.
- The position of Sr. Designer, Electrical, with a focus on Telecommunications projects, will include, but not be limited to, preliminary coordination, overall concept creation, design development, construction document and construction specification preparation, problem resolution and coordination with clients.
- The candidate may advise on other types of projects, as well as working on several concurrent projects.
- Provide technical design of low-voltage systems related to telecommunications infrastructure, pathways, outside plant systems and the associated coordination, MDF layout, IDF layout, cable tray routing and coordination with other disciplines, riser diagrams, labelling schemes, telecommunications grounding and bonding.
- Provide technical guidance for coordination of other low voltage systems, including security, access control, cameras, audio/visual.
Education:
- HS diploma, or equivalent, is required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design of low voltage systems for buildings is required.
- Credentials as an RCDD is preferred. A candidate that is on the certification path to obtain an RCDD will be considered.
- Advanced technical education or industry related coursework is preferred.
- Basic AutoCAD experience is required.
- Revit experience is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (such as Outlook, Word and Excel) is preferred, good communication skills are required.
- Familiarity with Bicsi TDMM manuals, ANSI/TIA standards and current industry design practices is required.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) is a plus.
- Ability to coordinate with other design disciplines and outside clients is required.
