Team lead, Site Controlling (2201959) – Huntsville, AL

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team in Huntsville, AL. A part of BASF’s Catalyst Division, the Huntsville Site is a global leader in the manufacturing of Mobile Emissions Catalysts (CC-EE). You will be a key member of the Huntsville site controlling team and manage the day-to-day processes of the controlling team. You will report to the Head of Controlling North America for Mobile Emission Catalyst business. This role works closely with leaders on the site within operations management, engineering, supply chain while leading a team of 5 analysts.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

Leveraging your Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or in a business field you will understand financial transactions and convey the impacts to key stakeholders.

Your strong interpersonal skills will be useful in developing, coaching, and leading a team of 5 analysts that have responsibility for precious metals accounting, financial analysis and other site controlling responsibilities.

With your experience in financial systems and SAP, you will prepare site operating plans/forecasts, ensure timely reporting, and align the product costing to accurately reflect the nature of the operations.

Through your experience in controls processes, you will ensure that the site is compliant with all required policies and procedures, and that potential risks are identified and controlled.

Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, you will develop efficiency improvements that will free resources from report development to data analysis and actionable advice.

Your collaborative mindset will be critical in the month-end closing process, where the accounting team will rely on the timely execution of tasks are completed before hard deadlines.

Displaying your analytical capabilities will be important as you will collaborate with site team members on savings opportunities and business case justification for continuous improvement initiatives (Project COAT).
