We are looking for a Site Logistics Technician to join our Seeds and Traits business. As a Logistics Technician, you will lead the daily operations of the fuzzy cotton seed warehouse, ensuring smooth internal and external logistics. This role involves managing various cross-functional tasks such as warehouse planning, quality management, and equipment and facilities maintenance.
Additionally, you will facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in essential skills to teams and colleagues, and interact with both internal and external customers regarding seed quality and logistics.
During your time as a Logistics Technician, you will…
- Collaborate with the Site Leadership team to effectively allocate company resources, such as personnel and workload, between warehouses based on seasonal activities. This includes coordinating with QA personnel, office personnel, and truckers to ensure smooth shipping and receiving of bulk inventory.
- Train contractual warehouse personnel on proper procedures for segregating various items in bulk storage. Take the lead on implementing and enforcing EHS safety processes, including safety training, providing feedback on safety behaviors, and ensuring equipment certifications are up to date. Foster a strong safety culture within the site.
- Implement and oversee site procedures to guarantee the accuracy of shipping, storage, and inventory paperwork on a daily basis. Ensure trucks are loaded accurately and in a timely manner, while also ensuring that unloading is done according to site safety standards.
- Lead the warehouse team in completing annual summer maintenance projects for the site. Assist team members with routine warehouse maintenance and repairs. Collaborate with vendors to optimize asset reliability through timely equipment preventive maintenance.
- Maintain quality inspection reports for loaders, warehouse storage bays, and shipping trucks. Work closely with QA lab personnel to ensure seed sampling and warehouse inspections meet BASF standards. Utilize site technology systems to maintain accurate and timely load procedures, ensuring all loads are processed by the end of the business day.
- Be adaptable to changes in warehouse locations within the site and be willing to take on different tasks on a daily basis. Take ownership of all site responsibilities and be open to learning and assisting in all areas of site operations as needed.
If you...
- Have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Possess 3 years of experience in warehouse/inventory control, quality control or related experience such as farming and/or manufacturing work.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft suite.
- Must be able to obtain Class A CDL License within 90 days of hire date, must be able to pass DOT physical.
