Drone Pilot (2103075) – Freeport, TX Where the Chemistry Happens BASF has drafted a new corporate strategy, with Digitalization as one of the six action fields, meaning: We want digitalization to be an integral part of BASF’s business to create new exciting customer experiences and business growth as well as drive efficiencies in processes. We want digitalization to be a key differentiator to position us as leading chemical supplier and operator for our customers. We will accelerate digital projects and build up strong digital capabilities throughout the company. This position will develop and grow our current drone and technology department in relationship to the inspection group for the Freeport Site. The concentration will be on the inspection of the equipment at the site, as well as expand to new technology. Core Responsibilities include Inspection with Technology Drones and development of new technology to aid in inspections. This is a new area of development that we are still building and growing. We are looking for an individual who is able conduct the flights, yet also work with the team to remain on the cutting edge of what is out there and develop new ways to utilize the technology to meet the needs of what the code requires for inspection. The individual needs to be able to work autonomously to complete the inspections and make the decisions on repairs, and what is needed to keep the equipment compliant. They also need to be able to communicate their findings to the owners and discuss repair options as well as timing. The candidate will interact with other Inspectors, engineers as well as maintenance and plant personal. This position will report to the Technical Expertise Manager and work on a team with peers of inspectors and Engineers.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Qualifications - External Formula for Success Education API certification for Inspection Preferred 2 certifications FAA Part 107 UAS Pilot Night Flight Waiver Experience 3-5 years of experience in both API as well as Drone Pilot Able to fly multiple types of drones, internal as well as external inspection drones Knowledge/Skills Good communication skills Able to view while flying and determine areas that need further inspection API that can fly, allowing the pilot to make the determination of results while flying Your unwavering commitment to safety will be evident as you pilot and plan drone missions such as vessel inspections, flare inspections, confined space entry, and emergency operations and ensure activities meet all safety and compliance requirements.
