The BASIS Ed Central Office is seeking qualified candidates for a Staff Accountant!
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Regional Accounting Supervisor with reconciliations for the monthly close process, Monthly journal entries and other special projects.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
Certifications and Credentials: Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in accounting.

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Knowledge of the accounting principles and practices.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of general accounting principles.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to read and understand financial forms and reports.
- Proficient with Sage Intacct, preferred.
- High standard of attention to detail.
- Microsoft Office skills with Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Knowledge and understanding of intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Knowledge and understanding of bonds and grants a plus Strong reconciliation abilities.
- Solid understanding of accrual vs cash accounting.
- Solid understanding of how AP, AR and GL link together and interface.
- Must be inquisitive and not afraid to ask questions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all Statement of Financial Position accounts.
- Review Statement of Activities accounts for accuracy and identify any variances.
- Prepare general journal entries.
- Analyze, identify, and investigate account variances.
- Prepare and review fixed assets reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate account balances.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
