Responsibilities
The Perioperative Technician is responsible for the efficient turnover of rooms between surgical procedures; including cleaning of OR rooms and equipment, and transporting/transferring patients. Crossed training for receptionist/support aide duties in ASU and endoscope reprocessing. Performs end of day terminal cleaning of the operating rooms. Also, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse provides indirect patient care, providing assistance and transport of patient and specimens.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Experience
- Previous sterile processing/healthcare experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certificates
- Certification for Central Service Technician, preferred, completed within one (1) year from hire date.
- BLS required within thirty days of hire.
Skills
- Excellent motor, hand, eye, coordination and manual dexterity, required.
- Ability to handle and operate equipment, read, retains and comprehends written and oral medical and technical information.
- Ability to building rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent CRH positively in internal and external meetings, required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills, required.
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills, required.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires extensive standing, with some pulling, pushing and routine walking.
- Ability to lift, possibly heavy lifting in support of patient positioning, and instrument and equipment handling.
