Registered Nurse, Ambulatory Care

The Registered Nurse, Ambulatory Care will work Per Diem Days and is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process.

• The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient needs.
• As a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork.
• The Registered Nurse III and IV assures that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state and federal law, and provides leadership to department staff, serving as a resource and mentor.
• As a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to the body of professional nursing practice through participation in research, committee work, and professional organizations, internal and external.

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate, Associate, OR Diploma Professional Nursing program is required

Experience:

• At least 3 years experience as an RN required
• 1 year of above experience must be within relevant practice area
• Previous experience as a charge nurse/leadership role preferred

Licensure/Certificates:

• Current NYS RN licensure
• BLS certification preferred
• Certification in area of practive preferred

Skills:

• Ability to assess patient status and take appropriate action is required
• Demonstrates competency in required nursing skills relevant to area of practice
• Ability to multi-task effectively in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to function in charge nurse or leadership capacity as determined by practice arena
• Ability to precept and mentor other staff members

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, standing, squatting and kneeling required throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and position patients required
• Category I risk exposure as defined by OSHA
• Must be able to identify and differentiate colors
