Position Purpose
Responsible for assisting in controls jobs setup, programming, start up, and maintenance of HVAC and PLC control projects.
Position Responsibilities
- Working under supervision of a journeyman technician, learn to troubleshoot and resolve various control system operational problems.
- Assist in the service of control systems that are covered under Bassett Maintenance Agreements.
- Assist in the coordination, installation and startup of control systems.
- Attend vendor and/or apprenticeship classes as required to increase knowledge of HVAC mechanical equipment and HVAC/PLC controls.
- Support and maintain a safe and Lean working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Tech School Associate Degree or equivalent experience in HVAC and control systems is preferred but not required.
- Good electrical and controls knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand training and instructions on DDC programming as furnished through electronic controls department.
- Good computer skills.
- Must be physically able to enter restricted areas (air handlers, ducts and confined spaces) for first hand observation or inspection (required safety training would be provided prior to this)
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
