System Verification and Validation Engineer (BT-24071)

The System Verification and Validation Engineer will support the JETS II in Houston.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops test cases and test scripts for software verification efforts.
• Integrates software from various vendors.
• Develops tests for dynamic physical systems.
• Data analysis and simulation techniques.
• Other duties as assigned.

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Must have 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop and test high criticality software.
• Experience with highly autonomous systems.
• Experience with web-based collaboration tools Proficiency with C/C coding in a Linux environment.
• Experience with agile software development.

DESIRED:

• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience developing software across the full development life cycle Knowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software.
• Experience with the following web-based collaboration tools:
  • JIRA
  • Confluence
  • Slack
  • SharePoint

WORK LOCATION:

• This position is located onsite.
• This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
• This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
• Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.
• Must be organized with good time management skills.
• Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
• May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
