Join our innovative ACE Unit (Acute Care of the Elderly) that has a great TEAM of nurses who strive to make the patient care experience a great one for all patients but especially to meet the needs of older adult patients!
This unit has a unique staffing model which includes an Admit Nurse & Discharge Nurse to improve the daily workflow to allow the primary nurse to focus on administering excellent patient care.
This is a specialized Unit that provides staff with ongoing nursing education and consultation to improve patient care through our affiliation with NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders). Nurses will receive an introduction to a Gerontology series of education and receive the designation of Geriatric Resource Nurse (GRN) after completion of this curriculum. In addition, this unit is a designated stroke unit in the organizations' certification as a Primary Stroke Center. New nurses will join a team of experienced nurses, as well as interdisciplinary teams to engage in best practices for optimal patient care. New nursing staff will receive support for transition to the ACE Unit under the careful guidance of knowledgeable preceptors and charge nurses. The nurse will gain valuable experience in many types of clinical skills and procedures as well as develop critical thinking skills for a variety of specialized situations.
Educational Opportunities within the first year of employment include: CPR, NICHE Geriatric Resource Nurse (GRN) Course, Stroke Boot Camp, Charge Nurse and Nurse Preceptor Training. After one year of service, nursing staff may be eligible for additional compensation upon successful completion of the Core Geriatric Course.
Salary : $74,400 - $94,200
