We are currently seeking an HSE Coordinator in Dallas, TX. to join our family.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
· Performs additional assignments as directed by the Safety Director
· Assists the Superintendents by suggesting safe work practices as part of preplanning and training; establishes jobsite safety procedures.
· Communicates constantly with the Superintendents, Foremen and craft workers in the crew as it relates to both good and bad safety practices that are observed
· Performs role of "competent person" on project
· Develops and continually improves the effectiveness of the department's procedures
· Ensures compliance with contractual obligations, if applicable
· Documents all safety violations or unsafe conditions/activities; ensures corrective measures are immediately implemented; follow through to ensure corrections have been made
· Develops the job specific Emergency Management Plan and communicates through orientation to all project personnel
· Accompanies the Superintendent and local EMS on a tour of the project at the beginning of the project and as phasing changes; ensures emergency phone numbers are adequately posted
· Arranges for basic first aid training for jobsite personnel
· Maintains safety files and records
· Assists the Superintendent in investigating property damage and personal injury complaints
· Orients all project employees to the safety practices required on the project and by the Company
· Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
· Ensures company policies and procedures are understood and implemented consistently
· Participates in pre-construction and handoff meetings
· Completes Accident Reporting and Investigation as needed; may accompany an injured employee for treatment and medical evaluation
· Conducts comprehensive on-site safety assessments as part of constant monitoring process
· Assists the Superintendent in completing the Weekly Jobsite Safety Checklists
· Coordinates project safety programs with subcontractors
· Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions
· Educates project personnel through "on-the-spot" training and Tool Box Safety Talks
· Must be willing to travel
· Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
· Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission and values
Preferred Qualifications
· This level requires a minimum of 2 years of significant construction experience, safety experience preferred but not necessary. OSHA 510 required.
