Bauer Infrastructure is hiring for Controller in the Lincoln metro area and surrounding communities. Exciting opportunity to join the growing Bauer family of companies! In this position, the Controller will work closely with existing office staff members and the CFO to perform the day-to-day financial management of The Company. The successful candidate will have direct oversight of staff and the opportunity to lead the accounting team.
Job Highlights:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday at our office: 18570 SW 29th St., Martell, NE 68404
- $90,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience
- Reports to CFO
- Supervise 1-2 Employee Staff

Job Responsibilities:
- Input and validate job cost expenses from subcontractors, vendors, suppliers and employees.
- Perform accounting, bookkeeper and basic cash flow tasks.
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts monthly.
- Preparation of work-in-progress report with project managers and compile accurate financial statements for presentation to management.
- Oversee payroll, prepare quarterly and annual reports.
- Supervise accounts receivable and payable.
- Post payments from customers to appropriate job billings.
- Assist in preparing bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and post journal entries as appropriate.
- Reconcile and prepare payroll and sales and use tax returns.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business Administration preferred.
- At least two years of experience in cost accounting required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Thorough understanding of:
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), specifically construction job cost accounting.
- Accounting processes and procedures including construction job costing and billings.
- Nebraska sales and use tax law specifically for construction contractors.
- Payroll tax law and the ability to complete and file quarterly payroll tax returns.
- General knowledge of employee benefit administration and reconciliation with payroll as well as certified payroll classes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Computer Ease, Sage 300 or similar construction job costing accounting software.
- Ability to multi-task, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with managers, co-workers, suppliers, vendors, customers, financial institutions, and subcontractors.
