The Senior Tax Analyst will play a crucial role in the success of Baxter's indirect and property tax recording and reporting functions. The Analyst should have a passion for indirect and property tax, strong analytical skills, and enjoy learning something new every day. This is a great role for someone who enjoys projects and working with multiple people and cross-functional teams.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Work as a team member on the Indirect Tax team and support the property tax, sales & use tax, and business license functions.
- Assist and lead sales and use tax audits as well as property tax audits.
- Research and resolve customer tax discrepancy issues.
- Research and file customer refunds in various states.
- File and track business licenses in various jurisdictions.
- Gather and analyze data for property tax filings.
- Calculate and enter journal entries in JDE.
- Perform account reconciliations in Blackline.
- Set up customer product exemptions in Vertex.
- Research and create exemption certificates for vendors.
- Perform tax research in Checkpoint and make recommendations on findings.
- Accurately prepare check requests and invoice KidneyCo Business Units as required.
- Assist with tax process improvements projects, which may include software implementation, automation, or workpaper improvements.
- Partner with Shared Services, Accounting, Legal, Supply Chain, Customer Master Team, and Treasury with regards to ACH payments, check requests, account reconciliations, org charts, system issues, taxability issues, etc.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; MST and/or CPA a plus.
- 3 plus years of Indirect Tax experience in an in-house tax department or CPA firm.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proactive self-starter, willing to assist with different assignments among various tax workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources.
- Experience with corporate tax software helpful - Vertex, BNA, Checkpoint, etc.
- Experience with JD Edwards and Alteryx systems is desired.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $72,000 to $99,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
