Summary:
The Communications and Connections Manager role is to oversee all communication and assimilation efforts at Bay Harbour by ensuring messaging and imaging is consistent, excellent, and conveys the mission for all to grow deeper in Christ.
The scope of responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
Communications
- Oversee branding utilization of all church communications including, but not limited to: website, church app, social media platforms, emails, texts, mailings, brochures, special service bulletins, office communications, signage, worship slides, and promotional products.
- Create, maintain, and update the BH app weekly with all current information.
- Create, maintain, and update the BH website.
- Create, maintain, and schedule posts on social media sites, specifically Facebook and Instagram. Keep information and images current and consistent. Use social media to “tell the story.”
- Create and send weekly/bi-monthly church-wide email.
- Receive all church-wide and ministry specific announcements. Edit and place in appropriate communication sources (social media, app, website, worship slides, etc.).
- Create announcement, lyric, and sermon slides for worship services and organize according to worship order.
- Work with graphic designer to create content for signage, sermon series art, special events, and worship slides.
- Utilize Canva for simple graphic design for ministries and announcements.
- Proof and ensure printed and electronic information for all ministries is completed with excellence through correct, consistent, attractive, and coordinated messaging to best convey the information internally and externally.
- Capture photos and video content for use in communications.
- Assist Pastor with correspondence as requested.
- Develop marketing, advertising, and other external communication strategies.
- Create and manage printing/graphic design and marketing budgets.
- Create worship run sheets in Planning Center with worship team and lead pre-worship meeting.
Connections
- Lead and equip Sunday morning “Guest Services” volunteers (ushers/greeters/communion servers/Next Steps table, etc.) in providing positive first impressions.
- Help identify, coordinate, and provide support for guest services team leaders.
- Provide volunteer teams with training in best practices and ensure every volunteer is able to answer questions and provide great customer service on a consistent basis.
- Ensure that key information areas are clear, current, and geared to welcome new people.
- Update records for all guests from first time through membership and small group involvement.
- Perform follow-ups for new attendees in a timely manner (by Tuesday of each week).
- Create and continuously improve follow-up methods to ensure that newcomers are engaged.
- Oversee all aspects of the new member classes including communication, invitation, gathering materials, reserving rooms, and leading the class.
- Through the class (or individually for those who do not attend the class), help people discover their spiritual gifts, passions, and place of ministry in the church.
- Work with pastor to develop a systematic and effective approach to connect people to small groups (sign-up areas, stories, church-wide promotions, webpage, etc.) and moving them from a visitor to a member who understands the value of being connected to a small group for community and spiritual maturity.
- Coordinate all worship needs related to baptisms, confirmation, and communion.
General Responsibilities

Accountability
The Pastor is responsible for management and oversight.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
