JOB SUMMARY:
Bay Ltd. is seeking a dynamic, autonomous and innovative business development professional experienced in construction, maintenance and module fabrication in the energy sector: refining, petrochemicals and midstream. The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying, developing and closing project opportunities and fostering business relationships with key clients. Must have a proven track record demonstrating their understanding of the industry and application of strong business acumen.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and sustain long-term professional business relationships with Process Industry clients and key decision makers at the facility and corporate levels – primarily on the USGC.
- Understand the client’s business drivers, the decision-making process and their gaps in order to propose solutions aligned with Bay Ltd.’s core capabilities.
- Develop and implement sales growth strategies and plans, in conjunction with the SVP BD and other Senior Executives, to maximize market penetration and develop new market opportunities.
- Ability and initiative to open doors with new clients, new geographies and new services.
- Follow the Account Management Process.
- Own the entire business acquisition life cycle: from lead generation, to proposal development, to negotiations, to eventual project sponsorship during project execution.
- Promote Bay Ltd.’s complete portfolio of services and build overall brand awareness.
- Obtain market intelligence on a continuous basis and disseminate the information internally.
- Actively participate in industry, community and intra-company events.
- Participate in client relationship development including entertainment (which may include evenings and some weekends) in conformance with client guidelines.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in sales, engineering and/or construction.
- Technical understanding of the construction and vessel / module fabrication business.
- Extensive network with EPC firms, refiners, petrochemical producers and midstream companies with good working knowledge of planned work.
- Versed in various contracting models and negotiation strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Must be a team player with an “outside the box” perspective.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and develop appropriate plans and strategies.
- Commitment to excellence, high integrity and results.
- Highly driven, self-motivated, organized multi-tasker attentive to detail.
- Completes work with a limited degree of supervision.
- Comfortable in working in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with customers and employees at all levels
