What are the responsibilities and job description for the SAFe SME position at BCT LLC?
We are seeking a highly motivated SAFe SME to join our team. The candidate will provide contract advisory and assistance support to implement and oversee the National Military Exploitation Center (NMEC) modernization program. The candidate must have a Top Secret/SCI and be willing to sit for CI Polygraph. No telework is authorized, and the location is Bethesda.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The SAFe SME will provide contract advisory and assistance support in the SAFe Implementation Roadmap for NMEC and ensure the Center invests in time, training services, organization restructuring, and process change. The SAFe SME will support Lean-Agile implementations and execution. The SAFe SME will utilize SAFE-certified content, knowledge, and exercises to educate and guide NMEC through the SAFE transformation. The SAFe SME will ensure NMEC is significantly influencing bottom-up change needed for effective and sustained organizational change.
The SAFe SME will work with the Lean Portfolio Management to develop the Center epics and evaluate them using LEAN principles for feasibility and priority to support the NMEC Modernization initiative.
The SAFe SME will conduct a Value Stream workshop by identifying and selecting the appropriate Value Stream and implementing solutions to deliver business value/solutions to NMEC stakeholders and Business Customers.
The SAFe SME will identify Agile Release Train (ART) – Program level virtual organization of people, automation, principles, and activities used to deploy products/solutions to customers using DevOps continuously.
The SAFe SME will provide contract advisory and assistance support to the SAFe methodology implementation plan to ensure the ART is fully identified and established with NMEC Division Management support, collaborated across Agile teams, and communicate a well-understood challenge or impediment.
The SAFe SME will work closely with Product Owners and Product Managers to create and refine the Program Backlog of required solution features in functional terms – based on business benefit and end-user demand.
The SAFe SME will provide the expertise in SAFe principles and practices, play a key role and be responsible for activities in Program Increment Planning, ART launching, and execution.
The SAFe SME will advance the ART execution by working with the Scrum Masters across NMEC Agile Teams to increase the evolution velocity, expand roles and responsibilities, and remove impediments to optimize continuous flow execution. Tasks can be helping the teams plan, execute, review, and retrospect the PI sessions; managing WIP and improving flow with DevOps; keeping the focus on delivering and completing tasks; coaching new Scrum Masters and Product Owners; maturing Agile software engineering skills; and improving with inspecting and adapt.
The SAFe SME will provide contract advisory and support by establishing SAFE foundational knowledge, Lean-Agile mindset, principles, and applied automation whenever possible.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified SAFe DevOps Practitioner
- Ability to plan and successfully execute Program Increments
- Ability to facilitate Program Increment Planning sessions and Demonstration Days
- Ability to execute and release value through Agile Release Trains
- Ability to build an Agile portfolio with Lean-Agile budgeting
- Ability to design and implement a multi-phased DevOps transformation plan tailored to their organization
- Ability to work with all roles and levels in the organization to continually optimize the value stream
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in applying SAFe to scale Lean and Agile development in the enterprise
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in applying Lean-Agile Mindset and principles
Education Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
Years of Experience:
- Seven - Ten years of experience w/ Bachelor's degree
Salary : $99,300 - $126,000
