IDS Medical Affairs Health Economics and Outcomes Research Lead
Reporting to Director, Scientific Affairs & Clinical Evidence, Medical Affairs, IDS the Health Economics and Outcomes Research Lead (HEOR Lead) is responsible for driving agile planning and execution of HEOR strategies across IDS MA in collaboration with global and regional teams.
Responsibilities:
The HEOR Lead is accountable for delivering comprehensive HEOR strategies for priority new product development (NPD) programs.
Responsible for delivering and executing against HEOR strategies for a portfolio of BD technologies
Ensure HEOR presence and participation in evidence generation planning for new product development, Investigator Sponsored Studies, and Collaborative Research Studies
Participate in MA strategy for projects and functional excellence reviews to ensure that HEOR is appropriately incorporated into initiatives
Ensure successful integration of HEOR strategy in broader scientific evidence generation
Provide guidance and talent development to other MA associates
Support regions in delivery of HEOR evidence for value
Interface with Market Access and Payment Policy and Public Affairs associates; activities may include:
Reimbursement/Policy: reimbursement submissions, payment issues, policy statements, HTA submissions if applicable to the portfolio
Develop and implement health economics models to perform cost-effectiveness analyses based on business and end user specifications
Conduct targeted literature reviews, systematic reviews and meta-analyses
Contributes to market shaping, market assessment, value story development
Perform Real World Analytics: Plan, Design and budget to ensure timely delivery of appropriate retrospective database analytics to support high priority ASR projects/priority NPD programs
Perform complex health outcomes analysis utilizing large administrative datasets that include medical and pharmacy insurance claims, eligibility files, and other ancillary data such as lab and survey data.
Ensure appropriate research design, project management, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of HEOR evidence and communication of HEOR key values in clinical development.
Build and maintain, in collaboration, KOL network with BU HEOR lead to support insights, evidence generation research, value story, and value communication tool development and validation
Based on department need, participate in offsite meetings, which may include presentations, meetings, and research conferences in an effort to expand engagement with key opinion leaders related to HEOR
Conduct targeted literature review (systematic and non-systematic) to determine inputs for models
Supporting non-HEOR clinical research studies and manuscript review
Requirements:
Post-graduate degree (Masters, MPH, PhD) with HEOR training and certification
3 years of experience conducting HEOR research (Related fields include: Health Services Research, Health Economics / Economics, Outcomes Research) o
Device/diagnostics experience required. Pure Pharma experience should not apply.
Demonstrated contribution to the field through publications and participation in the external HEOR community
Has substantial technical knowledge and extensive experience of planning and delivering HEOR programs, particularly launch deliverables, economic modelling and RWD studies
Has a record of owning functional operating plans while contributing to the development and evolution of business strategy
Has general knowledge of the external OR/Clinical/Regulatory/ Reimbursement environment
Ability to work effectively, independently with multi-level teams, manage multiple projects and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
Demonstrated and effective interpersonal, communications and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences.
Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment.
