Our injection devices provide 2/3rd of the worldwide insulin injections, serving our 30 million global patient base.
BD Diabetes Care has leveraged deep expertise and advanced technologies to continuously innovate their injection portfolio and to design and pursue the development of an infusion product specifically tailored to the needs of type 2 diabetics. Their products are diligently designed to enable people who are living with diabetes and will benefit from comfortable, effective diabetes care.
It is contemplated that within the coming months, BD will spin off Diabetes Care into a new publicly owned corporation, which will be named embecta (“NewCo”) NewCo will become one of the largest pureplay diabetes company in the world with a portfolio comprised of insulin syringes, pen needs, sharps containment and other consumable diabetes products and accessories and an R&D pipeline designed to meeting the needs of diabetes patients into the future.
SPECIALIST
This Grade 6 Specialist is responsible for all aspects of Syringe operation. Certified to perform all operations and preventative maintenance on all machines. Performs minor repairs and minor machine adjustments such as changing and rebuilding jaws, replacing knives, changing web, foil and other minor adjustments. Assists with other repairs and changeovers as needed.
Essential Functions
Safe machine operation.
Meet department safety and continuous improvement goals/expectations.
Produce quality product to established standards.
Responsible for PMs, TRS, minor repairs and any other duties as assigned.
Thorough communication that supports teamwork, collaborates & cooperates with others, helps wherever needed and fills in for co-workers planned and unplanned absences.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience
Previous BD experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient at reading, writing & speaking English.
Good interpersonal skills.
Basic computer keyboard & navigational skills.
Skill sets that apply to work cell and job application preferred.
Must take personal responsibility in all aspects of the job, hold team members to safety standards/regulations/GMP and policies.
Specialist will be selected based on knowledge, skills, abilities and minimum job requirements. Disciplinary actions, attendance and/or memos to file may be used to pre-screen applicants.
