What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandising Specialist position at BDS Connected Solutions, LLC.?
Our Merchandising Specialists work flexible part-time weekday hours traveling between retailers as they ensure home electronics products are on display for consumers to experience and purchase. You will work an average of 20 hours per week while interacting with all the latest tech products and devices at various store locations.
Overview:PURPOSE:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Sign in and check in with store personal
- Audit sections or displays, reset sections as per PLANOGRAM to include POP and pricing/fact tags
- Conduct standard merchandising project or program visits
- Assemble cardboard shippers
- Administrative tasks, including but not limited to scheduling and reporting visits.
- Receive materials at home and take them to retail locations as requested
- Other tasks as requested by management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous merchandising or retail experience not required
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to read schematics and correctly connect components
- Willing to take BDS Online training courses
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday each week with some occasional weekend work if requested but not mandatory
- Must be able to work 24 hours per week minimum if PT and 40 hours per week of FT
- Must utilize BDS APP for Reporting
- Ability to take clear photos and upload them into the online call form.
- Must be proficient with using and have a Smartphone/Tablet (Android OS 4.0 or Apple iOS 7.0 or higher) with an active data plan that has GPS compatibility. Capable of using a Smartphone/Tablet to report work and reference documents.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to travel outside of the market area to conduct outlying work (i.e.., 60 miles with compensation)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and provide proof of motor vehicle insurance
- Must have the ability to drive on behalf of the Company, in compliance with Company guidelines; and have the ability to travel within a designated market

- Regularly lift and carry up to 45 pounds
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift to 100lb with assistance
- Climb a ladder more than 10 ft. tall.
- Continuous hand/eye coordination and fine manipulation
