POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pantry Support Staff member will work with the Site Director to ensure adequate program and service delivery at the Be Concerned’s United Ministries site at 525 Graves Ave. in Erlanger, a nonprofit food pantry and thrift store. This position is part-time, and does not exceed 20 hours per week. The rate of pay is $16.00 per hour.

Possess the skills to work with food pantry, thrift store, and low-income customers.

Be organized and exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals.

Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.

Have past nonprofit, volunteer, or human service experience.

Have the ability to lift 40 pounds and physical ability to move between the 2 floors of the building.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the Site Director to make sure the pantry is stocked and building is in order each day for service.

Ensure that customer service counts are entered into the Virtual Case Manager system and USDA systems.

Assist customers as they travel throughout the building and pantry for their appointments.

Assist with the receiving, recording, and stocking of donations for the food pantry and thrift stores.

Assist thrift store and food pantry volunteers as needed, including covering shifts when volunteers cannot come in.

On an as needed basis, drive company vehicles to pickup donations.

Maintain food safe handling certification and follow food safety practices.

Assist with the housekeeping needs of the site, not limited to taking out trash, sweeping, mopping, and organizing.

Make phone calls to customers as needed.

Work closely with, and under the supervision of, the Site Director to ensure all data is being collected and entered properly.

Work closely with volunteers and assist them in understanding current tasks.

Demonstrate professional conduct at all times.

Perform other related duties as requested.
