Description
Title: Line Cook (Part-Time/Seasonal, Full Time)
Reports to: Executive Chef
The Line Cook is responsible for cooking food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards, and following established food production procedures. We are looking for Part Time and Full Time candidates, depending on experience and availability.
Job Tasks and Duties
- Cooks and prepares all menu items in accordance to standards set by the Executive Chef
- Ensures the level of food quality, presentation, and portion control is consistent
- Assists with preparation of food portions prior to and after service hours
- Assists Sous Chef with maintaining and organizing sufficient supplies behind the line at all times
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment
- Assists Executive Chef with other duties as requested
Required Skills
- Produces a consistent product in an efficient and timely manner
- Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with constantly changing priorities and timelines
- Ability to receive and carry out instructions quickly
- Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience working in a full-service restaurant
- Must have updated ServSafe Food Handler’s License
- Must have basic understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop, stand and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment on feet for several hours at a time
- Exposure to adverse temperatures and conditions
