GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Director of Nutrition Services, this role is responsible for the delivery of clinical nutrition functions at assigned site/s. In collaboration with other Clinical Nutrition Managers within Beaumont Health, develops clinical nutrition plans to support strategic plans and goals for Nutrition Services. Takes lead role in implementing clinical nutrition plans at assigned site/s. Collects data to measure key success metrics. Manages results and ensures positive site relations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Provides direction and oversight for clinical nutrition functions and dietetic education programs within the Nutrition Services department.
2. Interprets and applies current evidence-based principles of nutrition and diet therapy.
3. Accountable for service and quality improvement results (Press Ganey/HCAHPS).
4. Participates in the measurement of key success metrics. Monitors metrics and results. Ensures that department performance expectations are met.
5. Participates in the formulation of department business plans.
6. Participates in the development of strategic long and short-term goals and plans for assigned site, in support of strategic goals.
7. Provides oversight for standards and philosophies for the department.
8. Develops or provides input into annual site budget. Manages assigned resources within the annual department budget. Reviews and monitors financial results.
9. Interviews, hires, orients, coaches and develops staff members. Assigns duties and responsibilities, evaluates performance, provides feedback and takes corrective action as needed.
10. Complies with local, state and federal laws and regulations that pertain to the operation of Nutrition Services.
11. Maintains current knowledge of business operations and management techniques.
12. Models the behaviors embodied in the mission of Beaumont.
13. Participates on various hospital committees.
14. Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment.
15. Uses tools and equipment appropriately.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education / Training:
· Bachelor’s degree required.
· Master’s Degree required for home site of Dietetic Internship by ACEND.
B. Work Experience:
· 3-5 years of clinical nutrition management experience with demonstrated strength in relationship management, process management and people management skills.
· 5-7 years clinical nutrition practice required.
· Dietetic education preceptor experience required.
C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:
· Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
D. Other Qualifications:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required in order to communicate with vendors, guests, hospital staff, management, co-workers and all other persons associated directly or indirectly with assigned site.
· This job requires autonomous decision making. Assignments are received in the form of direction from Director and results expected, due dates and general procedures to be followed.
· Demonstrate proficiency in current Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with the capability to master company and department specific software and databases and other business software.
