Beaumont Urgent Care by WellStreet is currently accepting applications of exceptional individuals with medical administrative experience to join our team!!

As a Patient Service Representative (PSR/Medical Receptionist) at our urgent care facility, your focus will be on providing the best patient experience for those seeking our medical services.

You will be responsible for registering patients through our digital technlogy, validating their patient identifiers, verifying insurance information, ensuring all policies, procedures, documentation and regulatory compliance are met while always living our Core Values and being the best first impression to those that seek our services.

As a team lead, you will have additional responsibilities including training new staff, assisting the practice manager with reconciliation, scheduling, inventory, etc.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Greet patients politely and professionally at all times.
  • Provide registration instructions and assist throughout process as necessary
  • Maintain a clean, professional and welcoming enviornment in our reception area at all times
  • Perform clerical tasks and adhere to established policies and procedures as required for the PSR role
  • Determine and collect each patient’s financial responsibility based on insurance and/or self pay
  • Analyze health insurance benefits, verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information regarding payment policies and billing/collection processes
  • Collect and maintain all patient and business documents while maintaining confidentialit
  • Understand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Document in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions
  • Assure HIPAA and OSHA compliance at all times
  • Assist the clinic leader, provider and/or other staff as needed/required
  • Assist the Practice Manger in reconciliation, inventory, and other needs as directed

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in a medical office or emergency room setting preferred
  • Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination
  • Must maintain a polite and profesional demeanor at all times as those seeking our services come to us not at there best

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required to work three, 12 hours shifts each week with a weekend and holiday rotation
  • Required to travel within region as necessary; outside of the region in times of critical business demands or staffing needs
  • Required to sit, walk, reach with hands and arms throughout workday
  • Finger dexterity and hand coordination required
  • Occasionally required to lift moderate weight (20-40 pounds)
  • Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust or focus

As we are a medical facility providing care to our community members, masks are required at all times to be worn. We do not currently require staff to be COVID-19 vaccinated but we highly encourage to keep everyone as safe as possible.

  • 50% (Preferred)
