Work Schedule:
190-day contract. Hours are typically 7:30-4:00 daily with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. However, the daily schedule may vary depending on the needs of the district.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with physical impairments or disabilities, developing personalized treatment plans, and promoting overall wellness. The Physical Therapist will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and provide exceptional care.

Patient Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions and functional abilities.
- Analyze medical history and collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop a comprehensive understanding of the patient's needs.

Treatment Planning:
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and goals set with the patient.
- Implement evidence-based interventions and therapeutic exercises to improve mobility, strength, and functionality.

Rehabilitation Services:
- Administer hands-on therapy, including manual therapy and therapeutic exercises.
- Utilize modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy as appropriate.

Patient Education:
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and home exercise programs.
- Provide guidance on injury prevention and overall health and wellness.

Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting progress and modifications to treatment plans.
- Submit timely and comprehensive reports to healthcare teams and insurance providers.

Collaboration:
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.

- Participates in continuing educaton for professional development to ensure best evidence-based practice and to meet Arkansas State Board and National Board of Physical Therapy Certification requirements.

- Ethics:
- Uses professional standards of practice to guide decision-making.
- Adhere to all District policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Director.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Physical Therapy and a Master's Degree, Field of Study: Physical Therapy
Experience: Experience as a school physical therapist preferred.
Computer Skills: Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position.
Certifications & Licenses: Current Arkansas licensure or certification as appropriate for the position.
Other Requirements: 1. Successful completion of pre-employment background checks.

staff members.
