Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services to ensure timely reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify patient information, medical records, and insurance details
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9 or ICD-10) to diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resubmit claims as necessary
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Maintain accurate records of billing activities in the medical billing system
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding rules and regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology
- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
