Senior Electronic Technician

A Senior Electronic Technician job in Merritt Island, FL is available at Belcan. This is a three month contract. The Senior Electronic Technician role focuses on instrumentation support and will entail coordinating and executing sensor calibration activities at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). This involves working with a team of Instrumentation Engineers onsite to calibrate a variety of sensors including thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, strain gages, accelerometers, and ECLSS sensors. The calibration process includes determining sensor locations, executing calibration procedures using Epsilon and Manufacturo methods, and verifying data accuracy against system requirements. A hybrid schedule may be supported for this role. Whether onsite or remote, personnel will collaborate in teams, with experienced engineers mentoring new engineers. Remote tasks may include reviewing calibration sheets, updating internal trackers, and engaging in training activities such as attending instrumentation meetings and reviewing system diagrams. Essential skills include familiarity with data acquisition systems, experience with telemetry software like DEWESoft, proficiency in sensor calibration methods, and knowledge of telemetry protocols and sensor selection criteria to meet system requirements.

Job Duties:
1. Complete sensor calibrations deferred to KSC
2. Onsite presence of instrumentation engineers at KSC required throughout the calibration window
3. Calibrate thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, strain gages, accelerometers, and ECLSS sensors
4. Perform calibration process including sensor location determination, Epsilon and Manufacturo procedures execution, data documentation, and review
5. Onsite personnel work in teams of two; remote personnel support calibration process, attend meetings, and engage in training activities

Required Qualifications:
-5 to 7 years of industry experience
-Familiar with data acquisition systems
-Experience with Curtiss Wright ACRA KAM-500 DAUs desired
-Experience using DEWESoft or other telemetry software
-Sensor calibration methods
-Familiarity with electrical test equipment, including DC benchtop power supplies, signal generators, etc.
-Lab/Dev/Risk Reduction Testing
-Understanding of a wide range of analog and digital sensors that measure temperature, acceleration, pressure, strain, etc.
-Knowledge of common telemetry protocols such as IRIG, CH10, and PTP
-Sensor selection to satisfy system requirements
-Will need to be on site at KSC most days with the option to work from home 1-2 days per week
-Travel Requirement up to 25%
