POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Manager - Operations is responsible for leading and managing associates working in the backroom and operations roles. They are also responsible for managing the receiving, assembly, delivery, and restocking of merchandise in the store. This position will report to the Store Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
  • Responsible for training of all Operations associates on policies and procedures
  • Delegate daily workload among Operations associates
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and ready at the start of each day
  • Ensure that the outdoor area is clean and the bulk products are re-stocked, straightened, properly signed and ready for business each day
  • Ensure the restocking of all products on the sales floor
  • Coordinate the receiving of all shipments which may include unloading the truck, checking in the shipment, sort and segregating, and putting away the product
  • Coordinate the assignment of a Soft Captain for each replenishment shipment
  • Coordinate the assembly of all needed grills, patio furniture, etc.
  • Coordinate the assembly and stocking of all Stihl units and merchandise
  • Responsible for online order process
  • Work with the Assistant Manager – Sales to ensure the special order and online order processes are followed and executed in an efficient and accurate manner, adhering to the allotted timeframes
  • Coordinate the delivery of all products to customers which includes the communication with customers, scheduling, and delivery of the products
  • Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all vans and trucks
  • Act as MOD (manager on duty) in absence of Store Manager and the Assistant Manager - Sales, carry keys and perform opening and closing duties
  • Complete additional tasks or projects as instructed by store leadership
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school degree, some college preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a retail setting
  • Possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the company’s insurance carrier’s standards
  • Experience driving a forklift
  • Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead and develop others
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, reach and bend to perform job duties
  • Move and handle merchandise and fixtures throughout the store and the ability to lift 80 lbs on a routine basis

Salary : $27,800 - $35,200
