Light Assembler I assembles fabricated parts to relatively small or light subassemblies and complete units. Tests, calibrates, and fits parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Light Assembler I identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Uses hand tools and small power tools. Additionally, Light Assembler I requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require completion of an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. The Light Assembler I possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
