Lash Technician

Bella Mer is looking to hire a quality lash technician passionate about making clients feel beautiful! If you are trained in classic lashes and can demonstrate a basic application we will train the right candidate to be an amazing volume lash artist client’s love to see. We’re looking for candidates who want to join a team of dedicated cosmetologists/therapists and work in a calm, relaxing, and beautiful spa setting.

Qualifications:

• Professional license NOT required in the state of Idaho so we will hire you without one.
• Lash Certification Required.
• High School Diploma required.
• Set schedule, part time.
• Certification and proficiency in classic lashes minimum requirement. We don't have 6 months to get you proficient in basic application.
• Seeking hard working team players to join us.
• We can provide training for volume lashes as long as you are adept at classic lashes.
• Must be able to build trust with clientele through education on caring for their lashes, provide quality services that need few corrections, and rebook clientele consistently as well as generate referrals.
• Must perform follow-ups with clients.
• Must be able to use technology applications and software to perform point of sale and scheduling duties.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must be dependable and punctual.
• Must be proficient at barber & cosmetology board regulated cleanliness, sanitation and safety. (We will provide training for this.)
• Must not work at other salons or at-home while employed at Bella Mer.
• Opportunity for employer-paid licensure as an esthetician if the State of Idaho law changes through apprenticeship at Bella Mer or through a scholarship program at a local beauty college.

Responsibilities Include:

• Promote a warm, relaxed feeling for guests.
• Personalize each service to accommodate the individual needs of our guests. Interact appropriately with guest and residents with active listening or a quiet presence.
• Address guests by their name every visit.
• Follow established protocols to provide consistent, excellent service.
• Arrive and clock in on-time for every shift; clock out no later than 15 minutes past the end of shift unless directed otherwise by management.
• Be extremely knowledgeable and be able to accurately describe and sell services and products offered at Bella Mer.
• Provide product knowledge and a service recommendations to every guest.
• Educate guests on their lash health, natural lash growth and maintenance and treatment options and products to maintain the beauty standard and health of their lashes.
• Perform all opening and closing responsibilities noted on spa and spa room checklist.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization and restocking of your treatment room. This includes hot towel cabinets, lash implements, lights and lamps, disinfection lash trays, clean furniture and implements and restock storage areas. Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout Bella Mer common areas. Perform weekly chore and check-off sheet.
• Maintain excellent communication between activity in the treatment rooms and reception hosts. Provide accurate information to the reception hosts regarding type and length of treatment provided to guests. Constantly review bookings and guest notes for the day for booking errors, double bookings, allergies, special requests, etc.
• Assist guests with rescheduling, canceling, or new bookings as requested.
• Provide help to front desk scheduling and answer phone calls/texts as directed.
• Must have successfully completed training in lash service protocols before working first shift.
• Provide assistance when necessary to fellow team members and guests.
• Pick up guest on time for each treatment, perform the full service, and return on time to ensure all appointments run in a timely manner.
• Offer treatment upgrades (lip treatments, eye treatments, colored lashes, homecare, and growth serums).
• Educate and advise guests on care of their lashes, skin, eye health and follow up on treatment and recommendations post-service.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Lead Service Provider or other spa manager.
• Manage personal schedule and rebook/reschedule clients based on THEIR needs when you call out/are ill and home from work.

Specific job knowledge, skill and ability:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Current lash certificiation from an approved lash course/company.
• Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and function efficiently in high stress/pressure work environment.
• Must be qualified and able to perform all classic, hybrid, and volume lash options on menu of services. (Will train for hybrid and volume).
• Experience with hospitality and customer service.
• Professional, flexible and positive attitude.
• Detail and sales oriented.
• Ability to sit and/or stand continuously to perform essential job functions.
• Requires extending arms, bending and stooping to reach materials.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of guests’ needs.
• Must adhere to practices of occupational safety and health including wearing personal protective equipment when required.

Appearance Requirements:

• Proper professional attire required by following appearance guidelines as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
• Appearance must always be neat, clean and professional.
• Wears appropriate athleisure/casual work attire in black. Bella Mer logo shirts recommended but not required.
• Name badge and proper/uniform must be worn at all times.

Pay:

• Commision pay up to $45/hr based on experience and skill. (ie. longer services and lower skill rates may be lower but $45 tips and commission on products and add-ons can reach rates up to $75 an hour but are dependent upon the provider's skill and sales. Our average is $45.)
