What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Manager position at Belvedere Nursing & Rehab?

- Must be able to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
- Willingness to be trained and to work closely with facility department heads.
- Must maintain regular attendance.
- Must meet all local health regulations
- Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology
- Skilled at organizing various duties.
- Must be flexible and able to handle change easily and professionally
- Must display a willingness to continue to study, learn and implement continuously changing state and federal regulations as they apply to storing of medical records.
- Maintain a positibe attitude and communicate with staf in a professional and tactful manner.
- Be a role model of professionalism and teamwork
- Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness.
RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:
- Assuring resident safety
- Maintain the medical record system in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Maintain medical record information in a manner that prevents loss, damage or destruction.
- Assure that all medical record information is protected and kept confidential
- Identify incomplete, late and/or inaccurate documentation and notify appropriate staff members.
- File medical records accurately. Develop system for propmt medical records retrieval upon request by authorized individuals and agencies.
- Notify administrator of any medical records request immediately
- Process medical records request timel and accurately, with assistance of counsel.
- Prepare records in response to subpoenas or other legal process, with assistance of counsel.
- maintain active resident medical record including thinning the chart accordingly.
- coordinate with physicians to ensure that medical records requiring their review and signature are available for their review and completed.
- Enter data into the computer timely, accurately and completely. Print forms and reports from the computer program as required.
