What are we looking for in our newest Assistant Manager? The ideal candidate is able to:

  • Assist the Manager/Operator in the complete retail operations of the Scoop Shop, including the planning, operations, and marketing
  • Work with the team to ensure that the implementation of all systems fully support and comply with all operating systems.

In addition to being a great fit according to our company’s core values and the key components of the assistant scoop shop manager’s job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Manager/Operator in the hiring and orientation of staff.
  • Conduct in-store training and performance evaluation for all Scoop Leads and Hosts, with an added emphasis on ergonomics and safety for scooping and other work functions.
  • Direct day-to-day operations including store and staff appearance, customer service, cleanliness, compliance with all safety and operating standards, merchandising and production and inventory levels of all paper products, stored and tempered ice cream, waffle cones, novelties, and baked goods.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, by role modeling the practices of friendly, timely service and proper product handling.
  • Coordinate the store opening and closing activities.
  • Assist the Manager/Operator in the daily tracking of the store scooping performance and ensure that the scooping percentage is within the suggested operating standards.
  • Maintain the systems established by the Manager/Operator that will ensure the accuracy of all register, cash transactions, and daily sales and deposit summary reports.
  • Accountable for daily financial reporting requirements established by the Manager/Operator.
  • Assist the Manager/operator in the storage, and logging of all inventories.
  • Ensure that all invoices are crosschecked with packing slips, bringing any discrepancies to the Manager/Operator’s attention.
  • Assist the Manager/Operator in the implementation of the marketing plan with an emphasis on in-store marketing.
  • Assist the Manager/Operator in meeting the performance goals of the store.
  • Participate in store planning and development meetings with the Manager/Operator, Scoop Leads and Scoop Hosts, and attend other meetings and activities when appropriate.
  • Minimum of 25-35 hours per week of operational, customer and store focused. Additional 5-10 hours per week on managerial duties may be required depending on time of the year, and quality of staff.
  • Required 8 ‘critical’ shifts each month. (Critical means Friday night, Saturday open, Saturday night, Sunday open, Sunday night, or holiday.)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting Base Hourly Compensation will be determined upon hire.
  • Optional SIMPLE IRA plan with employer match of up to 3% of gross annual pay

  • Microsoft Office Proficiency Required
  • Constant Contact, Mail Merge, Salesforce, Adobe Illustrator, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Google Suite Experience are all additional qualifications that are complimentary.
