What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier and Kitchen Staff position at Bent Creek Bistro?

We are looking for awesome food service specialists to join our team for the 2021 season here at the Bent Creek Bistro at the NC Arboretum. Come and work with a fun staff at a beautiful location!

Busy day-time bistro, open Tuesday-Sunday 10-4, needs friendly, POS proficient cashier and customer service personnel starting immediately. Experienced kitchen prep and cook positions are also available. A flexible work schedule and great tips await you!

Foodservice experience preferred but not required. It’s a small staff so great attitudes, the ability to multitask, and a reliable work ethic are all must-have qualities for this position.

  • Walks and stands during the entire shift.
  • Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, and wipe.
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Frequent washing of hands.
  • Be able to lift up to 35 pounds.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Greet all guests with a smile and a customer-focused attitude
  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental Pay:

  • Tips

COVID-19 considerations:
To keep both our guests and staff as safe as possible, we are requiring daily temp checks, face coverings and gloves for staff at all times. We are currently only open for take out and are serving guests through a no-touch system.

Experience:
