Position Overview:
The Support Services Technician (Onsite Care Technician) ensures the stable operation of our clients’ IT infrastructure. This includes configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all infrastructure hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also serve as Level 1 support to analyze and resolve hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
Responsibilities:
- Self Triage calls to our support line
- Provide Tier 1 remote or onsite support as needed
- Document the details of the steps taken to troubleshoot and resolve the issue
- Communicate with the client all along the way, including a summary of the current state, the next steps, and the timeframe for next steps
- Server administration, including e-mail, print, application and backup servers
- Manage security solutions, including anti-virus/spam, and intrusion detection systems
- Administer network equipment, PC/server hardware and software upgrades
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
- Perform system backups and recovery using BDR and VMware technologies
- Perform server maintenance and timely application of patches and hotfixes
- Administer and maintain VPN infrastructure
- Recommend, schedule, and perform system improvements, upgrades, and repairs
Qualifications:
- 2 year MIS/IT Tech program is a plus
- Experience required with Windows desktop and server operating systems
- Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting internet connectivity
- Experience with Terminal Services
- Understanding of the relationship between switches, hubs, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network
- Working Knowledge of Wireless Technologies
