SUMMARY:
The corporate Safety Coordinator is responsible of the coordination and stewardship of key elements of the corporate safety program within the safety team and Bergelectric regions, including awareness and communications, safety data systems, metrics and reporting, training and development, and other key safety processes. This role will support the corporate safety team and work cross functionally with other support services and operation teams to drive improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the corporate safety team with implementation of the corporate safety program in Bergelectric regions and operations to ensure strategic goals are met.
- Assist in the identification of resources, timelines, preparation of deliverables related to key safety programs and initiatives. This includes scheduling meetings, setting agendas, developing project plans, documenting meetings and making presentations to leaders and other stakeholders.
- Prepare, test and maintain safety content such as standard operating procedures, checklists, forms, training, templates, and manuals to assure relevancy and accuracy.
- Administer client safety requirements and respond to requests for information from clients on Bergelectrics safety program.
- Prepare responses to regulatory agencies, prepare and submit applications for safety and health permits and renewals.
- Contribute to the development of safety campaigns and the roll-out of new safety programs and initiatives.
- Perform research on safety devices, personal protective equipment, tools and best practices. Make recommendations to key leaders.
- Support incident investigation and corrective tacking in Bergelectric Safety Data Management system.
- Conduct routine safety observations, develop risk assessments, site safety plans and other documents in support of safety.
- Schedule key meetings and prepare agendas, create or procure content for meetings, conduct periodic surveys and follow-up activities.
- Coordinator emergency preparedness efforts throughout the company, including maintaining networks for emergency trained employees, tracking plan renewal cycles and changing regulatory environment.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field, preferred or, equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in construction or applicable industry with safety related responsibilities preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal safety and health regulations.
- Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills with ability to follow through on tasks.
- Ability to work in high production environment and respond swiftly.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Motivated self-starter.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Sharepoint and graphic design experience preferred.
- Analytical tools and database experience preferred
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills preferred

- There may be high noise levels while on jobsites.
