SYSTEM CONTROLLER B
OBJECTIVES
To provide dispatch service and monitor system controls according to Cooperative policy; to maintain a safe and reliable system; and to provide a high level of customer service.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalency required. Additional dispatching, computer, and electrical training is desirable.
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year experience with Cooperative lines, computer experience, and/or dispatching required. Requires two (2) years in position to become proficient in job.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Be familiar with RUS Specifications, National Electric Safety Code, OSHA, local and state codes. Must have effective working knowledge of Cooperative system and service area. Must have knowledge of various types of electrical equipment. Must have thorough knowledge of Cooperative policies.
ABILITIES & SKILLS
Must have ability to follow system electrically (determine direction of feed and cut points in primary and secondary electrical system). Must have ability to read and follow maps. Must have and keep a valid South Carolina Drivers License. Must have ability to courteously and tactfully communicate with member/consumers and the general public. Must have clear voice to transmit radio messages. Must have ability to type or keypunch.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office working environment for the most part. Some outside work may be required. Some overtime will be required. Subject to irregular hours during emergencies. Shift work is also required for dispatching, the radio is operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
