POSITION SUMMARY
Compliance Officer will develop and administer policies and procedures consistent with New Mexico State Statutes and County Ordinances for personnel, budget, and planning. Assist management with coordination and supervision of office services, personnel, budget preparation and reports. Ensure all receipts and disbursements to and from the Treasury comply with appropriate laws, rules, and regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist management in ensuring all functions and procedures of the Treasury meet statutory requirements based on findings; recommend changes or modifications in procedures.
- Assist management in the coordination and supervision of office services, personnel, budget preparation and reports.
- Ensure that all receipts to and disbursements from the Treasury comply with appropriate laws, rules and regulations.
- Assist in the development, propose, draft, and implement new internal policies and procedures. Compile and maintain policy and procedures manual for Treasury.
- Analyze general operating procedures and make recommendations for increased efficiency and improved productivity. Evaluate job efficiency of all staff positions.
- Assist the Treasurer in the development and maintenance of annual budget.
- Research, develop and analyze all vendor contracts to ensure compliance with state and county purchase agreement laws.
- Research and develop all vendor contracts and insure compliance with State and County purchase agreement laws.
- Originate and coordinate all pertinent inter-departmental correspondence related to policies, procedures, and personnel management.
- Train personnel and ensure that all work completed is in accordance with accepted procedures.
- Incumbent(s) in this classification may handle sensitive and/or confidential records, plans, documents or decisions that require maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. ?

- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field, and five (5) years of work experience in office management, personnel supervision, financial management, or related field. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.

The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:- Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.
- Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.
- Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.
- Employee must complete required Supervisor classes if applicable.
WORKING CONDITIONS- Essential job duties are performed indoors in temperature-controlled environment.
- Primary work surface is even, dry, carpeted or tiled floor.
- Works alone primarily, with or without directions. Works with a group at times, and with a select team at times.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND MATERIALS- Telephone, calculator, computer, fax machine, and photocopying machine are used in performance of essential job duties.
- Various forms of paperwork are handled in performance of essential job duties.
