The role involves assessing patients, documenting their medical history, managing emergencies, triaging patients, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The Emergency Room Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring prompt and accurate interventions, delivering high-quality care, and stabilizing patients in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities and Duties:1. Assess patients upon arrival to the ER, effectively identifying their urgent healthcare needs.2. Collaborate with the ER team to develop and implement appropriate care plans for patients based on their condition.3. Administer medications and treatments promptly and accurately.4. Perform emergency medical procedures such as CPR, defibrillation, and airway management.5. Monitor changes in patients' conditions, recognizing and promptly responding to deteriorations or complications.6. Train and assist patients and their families in managing acute conditions, injury prevention, and health education.7. Document accurate and detailed patient information, including their medical history, symptoms, and interventions in electronic health records.8. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment while adhering to infection control guidelines.9. Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in emergency nursing through continuous education and professional development.Qualifications and Skills:1. Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (depending on facility requirements).6. Demonstrated ability to perform well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.7. Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.9.
